This artwork by Yayoi Kusama achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Dress sold for HKD 175,000.00 (€ 19,705.26) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Yayoi Kusama achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pumpkin in April this year with an auction result of HKD 30,000,000.00 (€ 30,635,869.57).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 75 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yayoi Kusama erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Dress für HKD 175.000,00 (€ 19.705,26) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Yayoi Kusama erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pumpkin im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 30.000.000,00 (€ 30.635.869,57).
