Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2018 a collector was able to acquire the work Congolese untitled (Malik) by Kura Shomali for GBP 3,000.00 (€ 3,383.07). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Kura Shomali have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2020 by the work Untitled (Malik), 2012 at GBP 3,562.00 (€ 3,954.21).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2018 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Congolese untitled (Malik) von Kura Shomali für GBP 3.000,00 (€ 3.383,07) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art bei Sothebys in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Kura Shomali wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Mai 2020 die Arbeit Untitled (Malik), 2012 mit GBP 3.562,00 (€ 3.954,21).
