The work Forest by Kristen Headlam was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2003. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 4,935.00 (€ 2,731.74), 41% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kristen Headlam achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Public Park in August 2005 with an auction result of AUD 71,365.00 (€ 43,490.40).

Die Arbeit Forest von Kristen Headlam wurde im Mai 2003 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 4.935,00 (€ 2.731,74) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kristen Headlam erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Public Park im August 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 71.365,00 (€ 43.490,40).
