Acquired from Gallery Chemould circa 1960s by Fanny and Rafo N. Ivančević | Thence by descent | Mr. Rafo N. Ivančević was the Consul-General of the Federal People’s Republic of Yugoslavia in India. He and his wife Fanny lived in Bombay from 1961 – 65. They were both art and culture enthusiasts, who befriended many artists and inaugurated a number of art exhibitions during their tenure in India.

It achieved a price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 9,347.54), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 43%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Krishna Hawlaji Ara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 240,000.00 (€ 197,709.86).

Die Arbeit Untitled (Vase With Red Flowers) von Krishna Hawlaji Ara kam im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 9.347,54) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 43%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Krishna Hawlaji Ara erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 240.000,00 (€ 197.709,86).
