Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Youth by Krishna Hawlaji Ara. The price achieved of GBP 12,750.00 (€ 14,999.16) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Krishna Hawlaji Ara achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2006 with an auction result of USD 240,000.00 (€ 197,709.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Youth von Krishna Hawlaji Ara zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 12.750,00 (€ 14.999,16) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Krishna Hawlaji Ara erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 240.000,00 (€ 197.709,86).
