Editha Hauska, Karl & Dietrich Moser, Vienna (heirs of the artist) | Dr Erich Pressburger, Vienna & San Francisco (Viennese ophthalmologist who emigrated to the USA in 1938 taking his art collection with him. In a postcard to Dr Hans Ankwicz-Kleehofen from December 1940, Pressburger mentions that the work was hanging in the nurse's room at his practice in San Francisco. It is likely that the painting found its way back to Europe after Dr Pressbur

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Austrian blumen Vor Gartenzaun (Flowers Before A Garden Fence) by Koloman Moser was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in May 2013. The price achieved of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 87,102.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by Koloman Moser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Le choc des Titans in April last year with an auction result of EUR 384,300.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Austrian blumen Vor Gartenzaun (Flowers Before A Garden Fence) von Koloman Moser wurde im Mai 2013 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 87.102,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Koloman Moser auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Le choc des Titans im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 384.300,00.
