Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Stranger #12 by Kojo Marfo was sold in the New Now & Design auction at Phillips in Hong Kong in November this year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 165,100.00 (€ 19,373.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kojo Marfo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Noble Passage, which sold at auction in April 2021 for GBP 35,280.00 (€ 40,582.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Stranger #12 von Kojo Marfo wurde im November diesen Jahres in der Auktion New Now & Design bei Phillips in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 165.100,00 (€ 19.373,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kojo Marfo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Noble Passage beobachtet, die im April 2021 für GBP 35.280,00 (€ 40.582,26) versteigert wurde.
