Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Kizito Maria Kasule was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in July last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,874.63). Other works by Kizito Maria Kasule have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2021 by the work Dreaming of Tomorrow: Story of Our Life at USD 2,932.50 (€ 2,591.01).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Kizito Maria Kasule im Juli letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.874,63) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Kizito Maria Kasule wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2021 die Arbeit Dreaming of Tomorrow: Story of Our Life mit USD 2.932,50 (€ 2.591,01).
