Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2019 Christies in London held the auction The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II, which included the work Meenaun Cliffs, Achill, Ireland by Kitty Wilmer O'Brien. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,125.00 (€ 1,321.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Admittedly, works by Kitty Wilmer O'Brien have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Aasleigh Valley, Co. Sligo in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 6,462.50 (€ 10,834.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Ross Collection From Knockmore, Enniskerry, Wicklow, Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Meenaun Cliffs, Achill, Ireland von Kitty Wilmer O'Brien zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.125,00 (€ 1.321,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kitty Wilmer O'Brien auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Aasleigh Valley, Co. Sligo im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.462,50 (€ 10.834,53).
