This artwork by Kitagawa Hidemaro achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2017. In the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints Online auction, the work Sodenoura of the Tamaya and Kamuro sold for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,978.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. This high result makes Sodenoura of the Tamaya and Kamuro the most expensive artwork by Kitagawa Hidemaro that we have observed at auctions so far.
