The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,373.63), 35% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kishi Chikudo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Long-Tailed Magpie In Red Maple With Entwined Locquats, which sold at auction in March 2005 for USD 19,200.00 (€ 14,804.53).

Die Arbeit Magpie and Red Maple von Kishi Chikudo wurde im November 2019 in der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.373,63) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kishi Chikudo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Long-Tailed Magpie In Red Maple With Entwined Locquats beobachtet, die im März 2005 für USD 19.200,00 (€ 14.804,53) versteigert wurde.
