Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Instant Landscape No. 2 by Kim Nam Pyo was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 23,750.00 (€ 2,774.63). Admittedly, works by Kim Nam Pyo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Instant Landscape in May 2014 with an auction result of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 11,821.85).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Instant Landscape No. 2 von Kim Nam Pyo im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 23.750,00 (€ 2.774,63) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kim Nam Pyo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Instant Landscape im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 11.821,85).
