Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Cherry PickedModern & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Cactus Girl by Kila Cheung. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 5,100.00 (€ 663.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kila Cheung achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work In Between Flower and Cactus in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 201,600.00 (€ 22,835.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Cherry PickedModern & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cactus Girl von Kila Cheung zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 5.100,00 (€ 663,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kila Cheung erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit In Between Flower and Cactus im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 201.600,00 (€ 22.835,41).
