Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Dance of Death, which included the work Vis Consili Expers Mole Ruit Sua (Force Without Wisdom Falls on Its Own Weight) by Kiki Smith. Here, the upper estimate of USD 7,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 7,680.00 (€ 7,040.70). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kiki Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in November 2005 with an auction result of USD 284,800.00 (€ 241,560.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts die Auktion Dance of Death durch, in der auch die Arbeit Vis Consili Expers Mole Ruit Sua (Force Without Wisdom Falls on Its Own Weight) von Kiki Smith zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 7.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 7.680,00 (€ 7.040,70) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kiki Smith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 284.800,00 (€ 241.560,64).
