Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Neighbourhood Haircut Contest by Khalif Kelly. It changed hands for a price of USD 5,625.00 (€ 5,257.99) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Khalif Kelly - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Confrontation At The Clothesline, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 13,750.00 (€ 12,998.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Neighbourhood Haircut Contest von Khalif Kelly zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 5.625,00 (€ 5.257,99) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Khalif Kelly mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Confrontation At The Clothesline beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 13.750,00 (€ 12.998,68) versteigert wurde.
