In August 2008 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Australian wave Sketch by Kenneth Robertson Macqueen. The result of AUD 9,000.00 (€ 5,253.73) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of AUD 9,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Robertson Macqueen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Australian Bungan Head, which sold at auction in August 2007 for AUD 21,600.00 (€ 12,916.30).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2008 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian wave Sketch von Kenneth Robertson Macqueen zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von AUD 9.000,00 (€ 5.253,73) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 9.000,00 – 12.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Robertson Macqueen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Australian Bungan Head beobachtet, die im August 2007 für AUD 21.600,00 (€ 12.916,30) versteigert wurde.
