Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seated Woman with Square Head (Version B) by Kenneth Armitage was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2021. The price achieved of GBP 69,300.00 (€ 81,364.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 50,000.00 – 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kenneth Armitage - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Striding Figures (Version 2), which sold at auction in June 2018 for GBP 218,750.00 (€ 247,224.78).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 69.300,00 (€ 81.364,72) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 50.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Armitage mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Striding Figures (Version 2) beobachtet, die im Juni 2018 für GBP 218.750,00 (€ 247.224,78) versteigert wurde.
