In January 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Outsider and Vernacular Art, which included the work Alien Influence?, 1993 by Ken Grimes. The »bidding war« ended at USD 6,000.00 (€ 4,944.38), 50% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ken Grimes; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Contact With Aliens Alone Won't Save Us, 1998 sold at auction in January 2019 with the realized price of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,730.57).
