Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In August 2003 Christies in Sydney held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Kindergarten Class 45 (Bondi Beach) by Keith Looby. The »bidding war« ended at AUD 7,050.00 (€ 4,164.80), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Keith Looby - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Family, which sold at auction in May 2005 for AUD 17,925.00 (€ 11,018.60).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im August 2003 führte Christies in Sydney die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL & CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kindergarten Class 45 (Bondi Beach) von Keith Looby zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von AUD 7.050,00 (€ 4.164,80) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Keith Looby mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Family beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für AUD 17.925,00 (€ 11.018,60) versteigert wurde.
