The »bidding war« ended at EUR 896.25 49% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kees van Waning achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shipping in the harbour, Rotterdam in July 2000 with an auction result of NLG 22,233.80 (€ 9,773.18).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kees van Waning erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shipping in the harbour, Rotterdam im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 22.233,80 (€ 9.773,18).
