The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,292.50 44% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Kees van Waning have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Shipping in the harbour, Rotterdam in July 2000 with an auction result of NLG 22,233.80 (€ 9,773.18).

Die Arbeit Gezicht op de Waal: sailingboats on a river von Kees van Waning wurde im Januar 2002 in der Auktion PICTURES WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.292,50 und damit 44% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kees van Waning auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Shipping in the harbour, Rotterdam im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von NLG 22.233,80 (€ 9.773,18).
