Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Town Of Gibraltar With The Coast Of Spain Beyond by Keeley Halswelle was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,081.46). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keeley Halswelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Play Scene in Hamlet Hamlet: He poisons him i' the garden for his estate. His name's Gonzago: this story is extant, and written in very choice Italian: you shall see anon, how the murder gets the love of Gonzago's wife. Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Town Of Gibraltar With The Coast Of Spain Beyond von Keeley Halswelle im Mai 2020 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.081,46) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Keeley Halswelle erzielen.
