Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work A breezy day, Thorpeness by Keeley Halswelle. The price achieved of GBP 7,170.00 (€ 10,732.83) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keeley Halswelle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Play Scene in Hamlet Hamlet: He poisons him i' the garden for his estate. His name's Gonzago: this story is extant, and written in very choice Italian: you shall see anon, how the murder gets the love of Gonzago's wife. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.170,00 (€ 10.732,83) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden.
