A top price for Katsuyo Aoki
When the work Skull by Katsuyo Aoki was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2011, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 16,772.75). This high result makes Skull the most expensive artwork by Katsuyo Aoki that we have observed at auctions so far.

Als die Arbeit Skull von Katsuyo Aoki im Mai 2011 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 187.500,00 (€ 16.772,75) mehr als dreimal so hoch.
