Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Waterwheel At Onden (Onden No Suisha) by Katsushika Hokusai was auctioned at Sothebys in London in November 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 900.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,174.24). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Waterwheel At Onden (Onden No Suisha) von Katsushika Hokusai kam im November 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.174,24) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
