Edo period (1615-1868), circa 1830-1831
An ōban yoko-e print entitled Kanagawa-oki nami-ura (Under the Wave off Kanagawa), from the series Fugaku sanjūrokkei (36 Views of Mount Fuji), depicting a towering wave above three boats, the series' eponymous mountain in the distance, signed Hokusai aratame Iitsu hitsu, published by Nishimuraya Yohachi (Eijudō)
