The work Mino No Kuni Yoro No Taki (Yoro Waterfall, Mino Province), From The Series Shokoku Taki Meguri (A Journey To The Waterfalls of All The Provinces) by Katsushika Hokusai was sold in the Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 5,400.00 (€ 4,448.47), 54% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 54 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Mino No Kuni Yoro No Taki (Yoro Waterfall, Mino Province), From The Series Shokoku Taki Meguri (A Journey To The Waterfalls of All The Provinces) von Katsushika Hokusai wurde im März 2006 in der Auktion Japanese Art Including Property of The Metropolitan Museum of Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760.000,00 (€ 2.538.631,35).
