Auction result well in line with expectations

It changed hands for a price of USD 7,500.00 (€ 6,478.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katsushika Hokusai achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Kanagawa oki nami ura (Under the well of the Great Wave off Kanagawa) [“Great Wave”|AID1099960] in March this year with an auction result of USD 2,760,000.00 (€ 2,538,631.35).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Blossoming Cherry Trees By A Stream von Katsushika Hokusai kam im September 2021 bei Christies zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 7.500,00 (€ 6.478,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katsushika Hokusai erzielen.
