Artwork auctioned at four times the pre-set estimate
When the work Ohne Titel by Albert Oehlen was auctioned at VAN HAM in September 2015, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 4,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than four times as high at EUR 17,850.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Albert Oehlen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Stier mit loch (Bull with hole) in October 2018 with an auction result of GBP 3,608,750.00 (€ 4,069,556.68).
Kunstwerk zum Vierfachen des Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Ohne Titel von Albert Oehlen im September 2015 bei VAN HAM versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 4.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 17.850,00 mehr als viermal so hoch. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Albert Oehlen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Stier mit loch (Bull with hole) im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.608.750,00 (€ 4.069.556,68).
