This artwork by Kate Malone achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May last year. In the The Collection of Sir Nicholas Goodison - British Art: Innovation and Craftsmanship auction, the work Tutti frutti fruit fence centrepiece sold for GBP 8,190.00 (€ 9,634.76) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Kate Malone; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Cotignac seed sold at auction in May last year with the realized price of GBP 12,600.00 (€ 14,822.70).
