Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Halt By The Well by Wilhelm Gentz was sold in the The Orientalist Sale auction at Sothebys in London in April 2020. The price achieved of GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,660.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Other works by Wilhelm Gentz have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2007 the work Crowds Gathering before the Tombs of the Caliphs, Cairo was auctioned for USD 36,000.00 (€ 26,354.32).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Halt By The Well von Wilhelm Gentz wurde im April 2020 in der Auktion The Orientalist Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 11.875,00 (€ 13.660,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Wilhelm Gentz konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2007 die Arbeit Crowds Gathering before the Tombs of the Caliphs, Cairo für USD 36.000,00 (€ 26.354,32) versteigert.
