Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Karl Knaths could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings auction, the work New Deal changed hands for USD 11,250.00 (€ 7,590.58) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karl Knaths - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lilacs, which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 34,000.00 (€ 23,500.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Karl Knaths konnte im April 2011 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Paintings wechselte die Arbeit New Deal für USD 11.250,00 (€ 7.590,58) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Karl Knaths mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lilacs beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 34.000,00 (€ 23.500,14) versteigert wurde.
