The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 1,200.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at USD 4,000.00 (€ 2,897.29). This high result makes Lithograph of a Lion the most expensive artwork by Karl Joseph Brodtmann that we have observed at auctions so far.
