Estimated price slightly exceeded
In April 2008 Ketterer in Hamburg held the auction Alte und Neuere Meister / Maritime Kunst, which included the work Italienische Küstenlandschaft by Karl Friedrich Schinkel. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,800.00 20% above the estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karl Friedrich Schinkel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A design for a new stairwell for the North façade of the Schloss at Stettin, with a subsidiary study of the loggia, a cross-section of the façade, and an engaged pilaster in January 2002 with an auction result of USD 76,375.00 (€ 88,870.14).
Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2008 führte Ketterer in Hamburg die Auktion Alte und Neuere Meister / Maritime Kunst durch, in der auch die Arbeit Italienische Küstenlandschaft von Karl Friedrich Schinkel zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.800,00 und damit 20% über dem Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karl Friedrich Schinkel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A design for a new stairwell for the North façade of the Schloss at Stettin, with a subsidiary study of the loggia, a cross-section of the façade, and an engaged pilaster im Januar 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 76.375,00 (€ 88.870,14).
