This artwork by Karen Kilimnik achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2021. In the Contemporary Art | London auction, the work The Countryside, the Poor Cottage Girl with Dog & Pitcher sold for GBP 32,760.00 (€ 39,075.81) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 12,000.00. Admittedly, works by Karen Kilimnik have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 390,302.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Karen Kilimnik erzielte im Dezember 2021 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art | London wurde die Arbeit The Countryside, the Poor Cottage Girl with Dog & Pitcher für GBP 32.760,00 (€ 39.075,81) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 12.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Karen Kilimnik auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 390.302,74).
