Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A still life with bottles on a table by Karel Colnot was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,920.00. Other works by Karel Colnot have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2001 by the work A landscape with a ditch at NLG 5,875.00 (€ 2,570.79).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A still life with bottles on a table von Karel Colnot im Januar 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.920,00 den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Karel Colnot wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Januar 2001 die Arbeit A landscape with a ditch mit NLG 5.875,00 (€ 2.570,79).
