Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Cosmos by Karel Anthony Nel was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 637.50 (€ 711.67). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Karel Anthony Nel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Circuit/Accelerator, which sold at auction in October 2019 for GBP 2,167.50 (€ 2,514.14).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Cosmos von Karel Anthony Nel im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 637,50 (€ 711,67) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Karel Anthony Nel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Circuit/Accelerator beobachtet, die im Oktober 2019 für GBP 2.167,50 (€ 2.514,14) versteigert wurde.
