Auction result well in line with expectations

(45.7 x 30.5 cm) framed 20 3/4 x 14 3/4 x 1 1/4 in. by Kara Walker was sold in the Modern & Contemporary Art | Bonhams Skinner auction at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year. The price achieved of USD 4,864.00 (€ 4,459.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kara Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Negress Notes in May last year with an auction result of USD 529,200.00 (€ 493,150.68).
