Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Gathering of the Chiefs by Kainebi Osahenye for GBP 510.00 (€ 591.56). This price was achieved in the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale at Bonhams in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kainebi Osahenye achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Isolation in March last year with an auction result of GBP 9,450.00 (€ 11,204.04).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit The Gathering of the Chiefs von Kainebi Osahenye für GBP 510,00 (€ 591,56) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online Sale bei Bonhams in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kainebi Osahenye erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Isolation im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 9.450,00 (€ 11.204,04).
