Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2001 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS, which included the work The Adoration of the Magi by Justin Maurice O'Brien. It changed hands for a price of AUD 28,200.00 (€ 16,379.17) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of AUD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Justin Maurice O'Brien - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Supper at Emmaus, which sold at auction in April 2005 for AUD 59,750.00 (€ 36,232.02).

Im November 2001 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN & INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Adoration of the Magi von Justin Maurice O'Brien zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von AUD 28.200,00 (€ 16.379,17) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Justin Maurice O'Brien mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Supper at Emmaus beobachtet, die im April 2005 für AUD 59.750,00 (€ 36.232,02) versteigert wurde.
