Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sneaking lynx by Jussi Mäntynen was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 20,000.00 – 25,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 16,000.00 (€ 1,705.58). Admittedly, works by Jussi Mäntynen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Lynx in June 2012 with an auction result of SEK 110,000.00 (€ 12,556.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sneaking lynx von Jussi Mäntynen im Juni 2016 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 20.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 16.000,00 (€ 1.705,58) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jussi Mäntynen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Lynx im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von SEK 110.000,00 (€ 12.556,05).
