Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Julio Vila y Prades could be acquired at Sothebys in London in November 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Paintings auction, the work Spanish española Con Mantilla (The White Mantilla) changed hands for GBP 17,500.00 (€ 20,429.46) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Other works by Julio Vila y Prades have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in November 2008 by the work Recogida De La Naranja (Picking Oranges) at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 22,670.16).
