Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Spanish La Buenaventura by Julio Romero de Torres was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 104,500.00 (€ 134,526.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Julio Romero de Torres have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Fuensanta in November 2007 with an auction result of GBP 826,900.00 (€ 1,157,873.93).
