The work A Face by Jules Vermeire was sold in the TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2001. The »bidding war« ended at NLG 17,625.00 (€ 8,471.40), 18% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jules Vermeire - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A head, which sold at auction in June 2000 for NLG 49,148.40 (€ 20,972.39).

Die Arbeit A Face von Jules Vermeire wurde im Juni 2001 in der Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 17.625,00 (€ 8.471,40) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jules Vermeire mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A head beobachtet, die im Juni 2000 für NLG 49.148,40 (€ 20.972,39) versteigert wurde.
