Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jules Scalbert could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in May 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the European Art auction, the work French The Boating Party changed hands for USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,175.66) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jules Scalbert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Le bord de la Marne in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 275,000.00 (€ 242,675.61).
