In May last year Christies in Paris held the auction Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures, which included the work Les Fumeurs ; Et La Sortie D’Une Maison De Jeu by Julien-Léopold Boilly. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 9,450.00 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Julien-Léopold Boilly achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Trompe L'Oeil Of A Bookshelf With A Terracotta Relief in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 152,500.00 (€ 111,192.13).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Maîtres Anciens - Dessins, Peintures, Sculptures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Les Fumeurs ; Et La Sortie D’Une Maison De Jeu von Julien-Léopold Boilly zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 9.450,00 und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Julien-Léopold Boilly erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Trompe L'Oeil Of A Bookshelf With A Terracotta Relief im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 152.500,00 (€ 111.192,13).
