Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Evening Ballad by Jules-Alexandre Duval-Lecamus was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2002, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,525.00 (€ 3,915.80). Other works by Jules-Alexandre Duval-Lecamus have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2011 by the work Allegories of music at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,497.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Evening Ballad von Jules-Alexandre Duval-Lecamus im April 2002 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.525,00 (€ 3.915,80) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Jules-Alexandre Duval-Lecamus wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2011 die Arbeit Allegories of music mit GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.497,22).
