Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a girl as Ceres by Jürgen Ovens was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 6,250.00 (€ 5,085.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jürgen Ovens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Elegant Family Portrait, Traditionally Identified As Colonel John Hutchinson (1616-1664) And His Family in December 2012 with an auction result of GBP 97,250.00 (€ 119,936.26).
