Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Judy Kensley McKie achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2019. In the La Ménagerie auction, the work Grizzly Bear Bench sold for USD 187,500.00 (€ 170,160.63) - well above the upper estimate of USD 70,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Judy Kensley McKie; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Leopard Couch' sold at auction in April 2018 with the realized price of GBP 150,000.00 (€ 170,834.02).
