Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Musical Interlude by Juan Gimenez Martin was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2010. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,308.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Juan Gimenez Martin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Spanish The Dance in October 2008 with an auction result of USD 110,500.00 (€ 87,131.37).
